We are approaching that wonderful time of the year again where we remember the manifestation of our redemption, Jesus.
‘And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.’ – 1 Timothy 3:16
Our redemption is a beautiful mystery, explained only by Jesus.
As we celebrate with our families and loved ones, we also remember those in need. Let us use our freedom to give others that same freedom. Let us use what we have, to provide for others. Let us serve as we have been served.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ – Matthew 25:35-40
I will be volunteering with a Charity called CRISIS this Christmas! If you would like to volunteer, do check out their website for information on the variety of roles and locations available during Christmas week 2014! They will have various centres providing food, shelter and company to those in need. You can select the centre that you would like to work at, as you fill out the ‘General Volunteer’ application form.
I will be volunteering for 14 hours on two days at the South London Day Centre (Wednesday 24th December 3-10pm and Monday 29th December 3-10pm), which will be held at:
City Of London Academy
If you would like to be placed in the same centre as me and possibly work the same hours, when the form asks you for ‘a friends application reference number’ you can put mine down which is: ’41s1xk46′
If not, grab a friend and volunteer together at a different location! It’s a great way to give back and serve this Christmas.
If you’re unsure about anything, please email me, firstname.lastname@example.org
God bless you and Merry Christmas 🙂
