The past two months saw my face go through a horrific transformation due to SJS (swipe all the way to the right to see the worst of the horror...not in celebration of Halloween though!😂). It’s safe to say that the pride I once had in my appearance was shattered into pieces during the worst of this sickness. As I embraced my new scars of victory, a greater appreciation for my inner beauty and elegance surpassed any shame or insecurity that I felt. • I went through the fire and I came out as gold. I was refined in the furnace of suffering and I came out as gold. • Queen @dejirachel_ enhanced the gold with her blessed hands 😍 her attention to detail, professionalism, gentleness and consideration for my facial condition was simply incredible. I can’t shout enough about how she exudes excellence and humility in her work. She even dealt with me talking and worshipping throughout 😂🙈 and we worshipped together with @philipabrobbey_ ; creative director/PA of life. ‘Beauty In The Beast: How To Suffer Well’ Devotional now on YouVersion! • We are told to reject suffering and pain, but what do you do when you are confronted with suffering through sudden illness, loss, abandonment, heartbreak and more? This devotional draws you into the journey of suffering, healing and finding beauty in the beast of pain. We ultimately learn how to suffer 'well' through the counsel of Scripture and develop a renewed faith in the power of prayer. • As requested by YouVersion, I wrote a version of my Beauty In The Beast devotional for their platform. I was initially going to share my intimate testimony-devotional as a bible plan on YouVersion but the Holy Spirit clearly said ‘no’! (It’s important to ask and listen to Him). • The YouVersion ‘version’ of Beauty In The Beast is less centered on my personal experience/journey. It is more accessible and generic in teaching believers how to suffer ‘well’ no matter what that suffering looks like! • As I was reading, studying, meditating and writing I paused at many points in awe of the beauty, strength, authority and juiciness of God’s word.
