CHANNEL 4 (LIVE) INTERVIEW – WHY IS IT HARDER TO DIAGNOSE DISORDERS ON NON-WHITE SKIN?

What a phenomenal experience to have shared my near-fatal Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) story of race-driven medical negligence on LIVE TV on Channel 4’s show, ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’. It was even better that I got to tag team with the beautiful Dr Sharon (IG: @derm_chic) who has created an entire medical curriculum centered around this important area.

The episode (Fri 25/06/21; 12:30pm) is available to watch on demand via Channel 4’s website (I’d recommend watching from 16 mins in, to catch our interview segment). It will be up for 30 days from the date of airing.

I am so thankful to have been kept alive for such a time as this. God knew why SJS had to happen to me. He trusted me to be the loudest trumpet pushing for change in this area. From directly contributing to medical education via lectures, to sharing my story on multiple National media platforms and now LIVE TV!

In 2019, I said that this testimony was bigger than me.

It remains bigger than me.

God gets all the glory.

Prayer:

May your name be a reference point for positive change.

May every experience in your life, whether good or bad, be a reference point for positive change.

Nothing is wasted.

Every thread of your life has been carefully woven together, so, trust the God who lovingly created you for His splendor.

I was blessed with twin daughters of which I lost my other angel in 2012 aged 21 studying Accountancy and the remaining twin is a Medical Doctor (GP) aged 30, years old .I strived against discrimination against my HIV positive status n mental health as a single parent for my twin daughters.Scriptures from the Bible are my refuge….please pray
