A justified oxymoron

A united spirit within a group is often attained at the expense of another. Affirming in-group biases to further dissociate ones-self from the out-group.

How are Christians supposed to differ in this regard…?Holy Communion. The phrase itself is a justified oxymoron. We are brought together with one thing in common, Christ, but at the same time we are set apart. (Holy)

An unholy communion is based on the sacrifice of others, Holy Communion is based on the self-sacrifice of Christ where we find our redemption and salvation.

So let us be united as a Christian community, but set apart for the world to see the glory of Christ in us.

The church’s one foundation
is Jesus Christ her Lord;
she is his new creation
by water and the Word.
From heaven he came and sought her
to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her,
and for her life he died. – Lyrics from The church’s one foundation 1839
