Reflecting on my EdD journey, I am reminded of the determined 16-year-old version of myself who set her sights on becoming an academic doctor. Being a young, black female student in South London, I knew the odds were stacked against me. In this post I share my 'A' graded reflective statement on the first year of my EdD at UCL, Institute of Education.
